| Beret Beauty |

Feeling like a Parisian girl in the middle of New York, thanks to my beret of course! I absolutely LOVE Paris and I can not wait to go back there again, but for now I will bring Paris to me. The beret hat has definitely made a come back this season, and now there are so many variations to choose from. So many styles and colors! The options are endless from the traditional wool ones to the Dior inspired leather styles. I personally love the versatility of the beret. You can rock it with a sweater and jeans or a dress with heels. For my Sunday look I wanted to do a sassy chic look with a little Parisian influence.    | Black Pea Coat with Faux Fur Stole : H&M (old) | Green...

God says this is STILL the year of complete and total victory and ALL of our hopes, wishes and desires of our hearts will come to pass!! Glory to God! Welcome to the year of Victory double portion!!!  Standing in my victory!!!  "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." | Halloween Looks 2017 |

If you know me than you know that I LOVE dressing up! So of course Halloween is my favorite because I get to fully transform myself into anyone that I want to be! Every year I do two looks. I do a themed look with my girls and then a separate look  by myself. I don't know what it is I just have so much fun playing dress up (lol)  This year  for my first look I decided to be The Cat in The Hat, by Dr. Suess, and I am glad I did it was so much fun.  I usually plan what I am going to be at least 6 months before Halloween.  Yes it is that serious, (lol) especially when your doing a...

| Fall Infusion |

If you live in New York , then you are probably wondering "Where is Fall?"  At least that is what I have been asking myself for the past couple of weeks. Our typical Autumn weather has been filled with 80 degree days and 70 degree nights. Well that has recently changed "Thank God" I know I know who doesn't like warm weather? But the many things that I love about New York is that we have 4 seasons. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. One of my favorite seasons is Fall. The leaves start to change color and the temperature drops to a cool breeze. I  love wearing boots, jackets and layers. I also love transitioning some of my Summer pieces into...

NYFW / The Shows / Part 3

Hakkaya Akkaya is a Turkish designer who studied fashion design at Istasyon Art Academy. After he graduated Akkaya worked as a Design Department  Manager for some leading brands within the Turkish textile industry. In 2010, he established his own atelier firm. He has been showing his collections at NYFW The Shows for the past 6 years now.  Black and white silhouettes and bold stripes with hints of Zebra prints hit the runway at the Hakan Akkaya S/S 18 Fashion show on Monday September 11th 2017. The collection was inspired by existentialism; which is the work associated within the late 19th - 20th century European philosophers. While the predominant value of existentialist thought is commonly acknowledged to be freedom, its primary virtue is authenticity. Often times black and white can be seen as boring or mundane,...

NYFW / The Shows / Part 2

For the first time ever Fashion Week went BIG! Yes, they supersized it! Bold, Beautiful and Bigger models sashayed down the runway at the Addition Elle and Torrid shows at NYFW. Talk about a moment in history! For countless years the fashion industry has glorified the slim, slender, skinny (almost sickly) model. From magazine covers to popular television shows the imagine of beauty has always been “thin is in” and if a woman did not fall into that category then they were neither in or attractive. Well look how the that image is slowly changing.  These shows are helping transform the fashion industry with bold empowering moves towards diversity and inclusiveness; not just in fashion but in the world! Embracing oneself and...

NYFW/ The Shows / Part 1

Well another New York Fashion Week (NYFW)  season has come to an end. This season designers presented their Spring/Summer 2018 collections at Skylight Clarkson, Pier 59 Studios and too many other off sight venues to name.  The hustle and bustle of fashion week is always hectic, but this season it was more than hectic is was exhausting. The venues were small, far apart and un accommodating. Sadly the essence of NYFW has dramatically changed for the worse not the better. I am heart broken that fashion week has come to this. Long gone are the tents at Bryant Park or the elegance of Lincoln Center. The reality is NYFW needs a make over! Yes a complete face lift; before it...

Star Power!

A star is a fixed luminous point in the sky at night, it's a large remote incandescent body like the sun. We as humans have that same ability to shine in the darkness. Let us be the light and spread love, peace and joy throughout the world. "Let your light shine before men so that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence , and (recognize and honor and) glorify your father in heaven."...

New Beginnings!

I am so happy to share with you all that I have been accepted into The Academy of Art University.  I will be obtaining my MA in Fashion Journalism.   My school is located in San Francisco, California and I live in New York City. Thank God for technology (lol) I will be attending school full time online. Now this should be very interesting for me because I have never been a part of an online program before. I am both nervous and excited to push past my comfort zone and be challenged in new ways. I know that this degree will help take my fashion career to the next level.  A few weeks ago I was able to visit the campus...
