NYFW / The Shows / Part 1

New York Fashion Week is always such an exciting time, from getting ready and becoming “fashionably fabulous” to waiting for the shows to start. I just love the glitz and glam of it all, but more importantly than that I value the people I meet during fashion week. I have met some pretty amazing people along the way who I now consider my friends. This past fashion week was no exception. I had a wonderful time seeing old faces and getting to meet new and exciting people in this industry. Some people may say that the fashion industry is full of self absorbed arrogant snobs who have nothing better to do then dress up and take pictures, well I certainly disagree with that. Yes there may be some snobbish people who are self absorbed, but unfortunately those people exist in every type of industry. Winter season is always fun (not really) there was a snow storm the first day of NYFW on 2/9 and I wanted to scream I mean seriously fashion and snow just don’t go! With that said I missed my first two morning shows, but I was able to get up and get out of the house for my evening show, and boy I am glad that I did!! It was amazing and my friend Soshe was one of the models!! I always get really excited when I see one of my friends walk down the runway!!!!

First Show –

Designer : Chritian Cowan

Christian Cowan made his NYFW debut at Pier 59 Studios on February 9th 2017. Although this was his first official runway show Christian has dressed many pop-stars in the past such as Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga. He is known for his colorful playful aesthetic and his out of the box creativity.

      Finale Piece! Paris was Stunning!!

Christian’s collection was fun, colorful, and unique. Some of his pieces were too far out for my personal style, but than other pieces I would rock in a second. You could definitely incorporate his pieces into your wardrobe and make it your own. I mean that’s what style is all about anyway. It was a really good show and I know that this is not the last time we will be seeing Mr. Christian Cowan. I am eager to see what he has in store for next season S/S 18!

Day 2 of NYFW
My first show of the day was by the Canadian designer Dan Liu.
Dan Liu draws his inspiration from his Chinese and Japanese heritage. He is best known for contemporary dresses and his tailoring that accentuates the woman’s form with a romantic flair. His versatility can be seen from various themes in his collection. Working from concepts to patterns he incorporates color contrasts, details and wear ability to ensure every piece is perfect from any angle. His Winter / Fall Collection was filled with tweed coats, knit dresses, and vibrant silk scarfs.
