For some reason people think you can’t wear pastel colors in the winter months. Well that’s just NOT true! It’s like that old saying “You can’t wear white after labor day” That rule is simply outdated and no longer true! The winter months are dreary enough without your wardrobe being dull and boring. It is time to add some excitement to your look by adding pretty pinks, lavenders, mint greens and yellows. I love pastel colors they make me think of a sunny Spring day, and who wouldn’t want to think about that.
If you ever taken a psychology class, you know that colors can affect our mood. Subconsciously of course, but its so true. When we feel upset or sad we tend to gravitate to dark colors in our wardrobe. We don’t want to be “seen” we wish we were invisible and want to just sit on the couch and have a Netflix and chill moment while eating chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream… NO? ok maybe that’s just me lol, anyway my point is that pastels are “happy” “fun” and “inviting”. Now isn’t that what you would like your style to say about you? Just like any other “new” thing we try, its always good to start with a little rather than a lot (unless you’re a bold person) then I say just go for it, but if you’re like most people you have to ease into something new. I suggest adding a few pastels into your wardrobe at first. Maybe a scarf or a hat, an accessory is the easiest way to add a pop of color to your style without it feeling overwhelming. This way you can gradually become comfortable with trying something new, and why not start now in January at the beginning of the year. So come on enter into what I like to call “winter pastels” trust me you wont’ regret it…!
